Tyskie Browary Książęce Visitor Centre named the Touristic Service of the Year 2023
The Tyskie Browary Książęce Visitor Centre owned by Kompania Piwowarska has received the Touristic Service of the Year 2023 Badge. The distinction is awarded by the jury of the Business Forum program. The goal of the initiative is to identify and award services and products from the tourism industry, which represent the highest standards and guarantee the highest quality for customers.
Tyskie Browary Książęce is a unique stop on the map of Poland. It has been an important part of Silesia and Tychy's history and heritage for nearly 400 years. It is a jewel of regional architecture. Beer has been brewed here uninterruptedly since 1629, which means that it is one of Poland’s oldest operating facilities of that kind. In the past, it was not just a brewery, but also a village, where people brewed beer, worked, gave birth, prayed, played and lived. It encompasses the history of many generations – families that had built a unique community within the Brewery premises.
The Visitor Centre has been operating next to Tyskie Browary Książęce since 2004. The Brewery tours include the historic yet still operational brewhouse established in 1915 with copper vats and interior adorned with a white and blue maiolica, Brewer’s House, Bachelor’s House, neo-Baroque Miller’s Villa, old wood tar factory, cooperage, and so-called familoks. As of August 1, 2023, the tour offer has been expanded to include one of the fastest and most technologically advanced beer packaging plants in the country, one of the very few available to visitors.
During a tour, visitors learn about the history of Tyskie Browary Książęce, stages of beer production – the world’s oldest alcoholic beverage, Tyskie and Książęce beer sensory profiles, beer styles and fundamentals of the beer culture. The theoretical knowledge is supported with sensual experiences – the Beer Laboratory awaits with beer artefacts and the best types of raw materials. Moreover, a tour guide will lead the visitors through the packaging lines for bottles and cans, present their history and types of packaging used in the Brewery, and share some fun facts and data regarding the record-breaking efficiency of the Tychy-based plant. Some of the equipment located in the Tyskie Browary Książęce Packaging Plant is only available at a few breweries around the world.
Tours around Tyskie Browary Książęce culminate in a beer tasting at the Pod Browarem pub, where everyone can get a taste of the unique, freshly brewed Tyskie Gronie from the Brewery and snacks that enhance the flavor and character of different beer types. The Visitor Centre building also houses a store with interesting Tyskie brand gadgets. The Visitor Centre is open from Tuesday until Sunday between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
