The abcalkoholu.pl educational website with the first online compendium of knowledge on non-alcoholic beer

Providing consumers with knowledge from reliable sources, delivering positive models, and helping make responsible decisions in terms of consumption of alcohol – these are the goals of the creators of abcalkoholu.pl. The website has just been expanded with Poland’s first compendium of knowledge on alcohol-free beer.

The authors of abcalkoholu.pl have been working on a comprehensive website dedicated to sharing knowledge on alcohol and its influence on the human body since 2008. The newly created “Non-Alcoholic Beer” section responds to the consumers’ needs resulting from the growing popularity of beers without any alcohol. As research indicates, this market shows great growth potential. It is the result of current trends – consumers take good care of their fitness, health and well-being, giving up alcohol and at the same time wanting to enjoy the taste of beer.

The readers of the website will find out what the difference between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beer is, how non-alcoholic beers are brewed, and whether non-alcoholic beer really doe not contain any alcohol, among other things. The section dedicated to non-alcoholic beers will be consistently expanded along with the growing interests of consumers in this relatively new type of beer on the Polish market.

The authors of the expert materials at abcalkoholu.pl are: psychologist Dorota Krzywicka, general practitioner and toxicologist – Eryk Matuszkiewicz, and addiction prevention specialist – Sławomir Grzegorek. The readers can use specific tips and advice in terms of using alcohol in different situations.

Additionally, the “What does beer contain” tab includes nutrition facts of all Kompania Piwowarska’s beers, while the virtual “Check Your BAL” calculator allows users to estimate their blood alcohol content. The calculator complements the “Check Your BAL” mobile app, which has been available for years.

The abcalkoholu.pl website is a unique online space and a comprehensive source of knowledge on responsible alcohol consumption. It is an example of self-regulation of a responsible beer producer, which Kompania Piwowarska surely is. The company has spent years executing initiatives aimed at prevention of alcohol consumption by minors, drivers and pregnant women and promotion of moderate consumption. These activities constitute one of the pillars of the company’s sustainable development strategy. The www.kp.pl website redirects visitors to abcalkoholu.pl, just as every Kompania Piwowarska’s beer packaging, where besides the www.abcalkoholu.pl address, the company puts one of the voluntary signs warning against consumption of alcohol by drivers, pregnant women and minors. The website has its extension on Facebook, where the ABC Alkoholu profile is currently observed by 21,000 people.

• Dorota Krzywicka – psychologist
She graduated from psychology at the Jagiellonian University. For 40 years, she has been providing psychological support to adults and teenagers. She is a family advisor, educator, lecturer and author of guidebooks. She not only helps people find solution to everyday problems, but also suggests how to avoid them.

• Eryk Matuszkiewicz – general practitioner, toxicologist
Clinical toxicology and internal medicine specialist. He worked in the Internal Medicine and Diabetology Clinic at the K. Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznań. Currently, he works in the Dr W. Błeńska Toxicology Department. He also teaches clinical toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine and Emergency Response. 

• Sławomir Grzegorek – addiction prevention specialist
He has been working in the field of addiction therapy since 1993 – as a helpline consultant, health promotion specialist at the Health Therapy and Prevention Centre (MOPiTU) in Łódź, author and executor of programmes regarding prevention of addictions, such as Noe or Debata. He has gained his experience working at MOPiTU in Łódź, Family Help Centre in Konstantyn, and Agape Association.
