    Lechends draw Energy from wind!

Thanks to the cooperation with innogy, Lech Premium supports production of wind energy and uses it itself!

In November 2019, Kompania Piwowarska signed a purchase agreement with innogy for 100% renewable electricity. Thanks to this cooperation, starting this year, Kompania Piwowarska’s three breweries (Tyskie Browary Książęce in Tychy, the Dojlidy Brewery in Białystok and Lech Browary Wielkopolski in Poznań) will use electricity produced by a Polish wind farm - Innogy Renewbles Polska Park Wiatrowy Nowy Staw.

It is the first PPA signed in Poland for the supply of energy from a planned wind farm without the use of any state subsidies.

Thanks to this agreement, the share of renewable electricity in 2020 will meet the energy demand of our Breweries necessary to produce one of the biggest beer brands in Poland – Lech.

For innogy, the agreement constitutes a basis to invest in a new onshore construction project, which will support the UN Agenda 2030 programme, simultaneously contributing to the execution of the environmental vision of our mother company, Asahi Group.

Choosing renewable sources of energy necessary to produce beer at Kompania Piwowarska’s breweries is another natural step of Lech, for which pro-ecological attitudes are particularly important. For years, the brand has been inspiring consumers within that scope by undertaking a number of activities that have a positive influence on the environment: from executing its CSR programme to organizing waste collections and replacing disposable cups with reusable ones at festivals.

Information on renewable energy is displayed on 500 ml bottles and cans, and soon will also appear on all of Lech’s packaging and in its communication.
