Kompania Piwowarska named the Exporter of the Year 2023
Beers offered by Tyskie, Żubr and Lech are enjoyed by consumers in 11 countries. For the export of domestic products, Kompania Piwowarska was honored with a business award presented by the Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers (ZPP). Poland’s beer market leader was named the Exporter of the Year 2023.
– We are incredibly proud that our beers: Tyskie, Żubr, and Lech hold such a strong position on the global beer map, alongside beer brands with a long tradition of brewing from countries such as Germany, the Czech Republic, and Belgium. The export of our brands is growing year by year, reaching nearly 750,000 hectoliters of beer last year. They are chosen by consumers from 11 countries across all continents. The ZPP award demonstrates that Polish beer is a valued export product, and Kompania Piwowarska's brands are recognized in many European countries. This recognition is a confirmation of the global success of our beers, backed by centuries of tradition and the work of our brewers – commented Iwona Jacaszek – Pruś, Corporate Affairs Director at Kompania Piwowarska.
The beer that deserves special recognition is Tyskie, as it accounts for half of Kompania Piwowarska's export volume, successfully competing with local brands in Germany, where the largest part of exports goes. In 2022, the company sold over 400,000 hectoliters of this brand's beer for export. Tyskie is the most decorated Polish beer in major international beer competitions, including The Brewing Industry International Awards in Burton-on-Trent, United Kingdom, where it won gold and silver medals and the Grand Prix. The success is also attributed to its place of origin, Tyskie Browary Książęce, where beer has been brewed uninterruptedly for nearly 400 years. Beer from this brewery has been winning over fans abroad for over 100 years, an example of which was the fact that Tyskie was served during the opening of the Eiffel Tower in 1889.
Tyskie is not only a successful international brand but also an icon of Polish brewing. It is the second most popular brand in our country, accounting for nearly 10% of the beer market in Poland in 2022. Since 2018, Tyskie has consistently shown Poles the value of bringing people closer together. It inspires to connect despite differences (two editions of the Tyskie Christmas Train), build relationships and support Polish athletes together. The activities executed via the brand’s communication platform have been repeatedly recognized with prestigious awards granted in the advertising industry, including KTR, Mixx Awards, and Effie. As of 2023, the faces of the campaign are sports commentators Dariusz Szpakowski and Mateusz Borek, who, along with Tyskie, promote the idea of getting to know each other regardless of any divisions.
The Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers (ZPP) honored individuals and companies who achieved significant success in entrepreneurship or actively supported the functioning of entrepreneurs in Poland.
ZPP, the organizer of the ZPP 2023 Business Awards, is the fastest-growing and one of the most active employer organizations in Poland. Established in 2010, it brings together 17 regional and 19 sectoral organizations. In addition to taking positions on all key issues in the public debate, ZPP conducts a range of dedicated activities within the Digital, Labor, Energy, Climate, Agricultural, and Health Forum. It organizes approximately 40 proprietary events every year.
ZPP is a non-political organization that supports a free market, fair competition, legal stability, and transparency, regardless of political divisions.
