Kompania Piwowarska has launched the biggest investment project in the history of its supply chain

Kompania Piwowarska’s new high-bay warehouse, the construction of which has just begun at the Poznań brewery, will cover 12,000 m², stand 40 meters tall, and accommodate 40,000 pallets. With a project value of PLN 200 million, it constitutes the largest logistics investment in the company's history. The facility is set to be fully operational in 2026.

The new investment project will enable the consolidation of the distribution network, allowing the company to deliver more beer directly from the brewery to customer warehouses, thus eliminating the need to maintain satellite or buffer warehouses. This will significantly reduce transportation by increasing direct deliveries to customers from the current 50% to approximately 90%.

– The new warehouse in Poznań will ensure that we maintain the appropriate inventory levels needed to serve all our customers. As a result, the warehouse space and the number of pallets at the Poznań brewery will triple from 20,000 to 60,000 pallets. In practice, the warehouse will accommodate the equivalent of 1,350 fully loaded trucks, which translates to about 60 million cans. The entire facility will support significant cargo flows, which are managed at the brewery. The system will allow us to store up to 368 pallets per hour in the production intake area while simultaneously preparing up to 572 pallets per hour in the distribution area. This demonstrates the substantial capabilities this investment will bring – says Bartosz Bukowiecki, Strategic Logistics Project Manager at Kompania Piwowarska.

Moreover, the project is of significant environmental importance, as it will reduce CO₂ emissions from transportation by over 2,300 tons annually. It is a step toward achieving the company's long-term goal of reducing its Scope 3 carbon footprint by 30% by 2030.

The planned warehouse and accompanying buildings will cover a total area of approximately 12,000 m², with the warehouse itself spanning across about 7,000 m² and reaching a height of around 40 meters. The construction also includes a loading hall with 18 loading docks, sanitary and office facilities, an electrical power station, and a fire protection system.

The facility will consist of 12 aisles and 15 storage levels, with the capacity to store pallets weighing up to 1 ton in each slot. It will be dedicated exclusively to storing finished products.

The new automated high-bay warehouse in Poznań will be the second of its kind in the Asahi Europe & International Group, which Kompania Piwowarska is part of, following the commissioning of the warehouse in Pilsen by the Group's Plzeňský Prazdroj in 2023.

The investment cost will amount to PLN 200 million. The general contractor for the facility is PORR S.A. The project is managed by APP-Projekt S.A.
