Four of Kompania Piwowarska’s practices in the Responsible Business Forum report
The use of recycled foil, installation of a heat pump in the brewery, and two educational social programs – these are the practices of Kompania Piwowarska that have been recognized by experts and appreciated in the Responsible Business Forum report – "Responsible Business in Poland. Good Practices." Once again, the leader of the beer industry in Poland has earned a place among the companies implementing the most interesting projects in the field of sustainable development.
At the beginning of 2022, Kompania Piwowarska defined the overarching purpose of its business activity, which is "Creating Meaningful Connections." Within this framework, the company set two goals for itself: be a force for planet positivity and serve up a positive and inclusive experience for people and society. Whenever possible, in the scope of sustainable development, the company strives to join forces with other organisations and businesses. That way, Kompania Piwowarska’s efforts can increase its positive impact on the environment it operates within.
April 16, 2024, marked the release of a new edition of the Responsible Business Forum's report titled "Responsible Business in Poland 2023. Good Practices. It is the 22 nd edition of the largest overview of ESG activities in Poland published by RBF, which includes practices of Kompania Piwowarska. In the "environment" section, a project utilizing shrink film packaging made entirely from recycled materials was highlighted, resulting in a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 20% compared to the previously used material. The implementation of an innovative energy solution in the brewery in Tychy was also described. The modern energy recovery system, based on a heat pump, represents a significant step towards sustainable production, contributing to a 15% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in the thermal energy acquisition process at the brewery.
The report also highlighted two social educational programs executed by the company, related to responsible alcohol consumption: FASOFF "I’m about to be a Dad. I don't drink along with Her" building awareness on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), and "Drink with Moderation - That Rhymes." The culmination of the second campaign was the premiere of the song "Drink feat. Moderation – That Rhymes" performed by the duo Pih and Andrzej Grabowski, with music composed by Magiera.
– We are pleased that once again our projects, both those concerning the environment and our social initiatives, are being noticed. We firmly believe that corporate social responsibility and care for the natural environment should be among the cornerstones of modern business. We hope that our initiatives described in the report will serve as inspiration for companies operating in Poland. Likewise, we will carefully study the practices of other businesses, seeking guidance for the practical implementation of our corporate purpose, “Creating Meaningful Connections” – comments Grzegorz Adamski, Sustainable Development and Public Affairs Manager at Kompania Piwowarska.
In this year's edition of the Responsible Business Forum report, over a thousand good practices were presented (compared to 1,705 in the previous edition), submitted by 266 companies.
