Bar Koszyki becomes another Pilsner Urquell Tankovna! Official inauguration of Pilsner’s second temple in Warsaw
This year, Pilsner Urquell turns 178 years old, and to celebrate its birthday it presents another location where one can have unpasteurised beer straight form a Czech brewery. To please Warsaw-based beer lovers, the brand transforms the popular Bar Koszyki into another Tankovna, and invites everyone for the official event inaugurating Pilsner’s second beer temple in Warsaw, which will take place on October 10.
The residents of Warsaw will get a chance to discover the unique taste of the golden Pilsner in its unpasteurised version in Bar Koszyki in Warsaw (Hala Koszyki, ul. Koszykowa 63), which on October 10 at 6 pm will officially become another Tankovna on the map of the capital city.
There have been two tanks installed in Bar Koszyki, containing 1,000 litres of fresh beer. From the moment the cooper container is opened, the expiration date of the beer is only seven days, which guarantees the best quality. Pilsner Urquell from a tank has a more intense flavour with much richer and fuller malt aftertaste. It is much more bitter-sweet with more distinct spicy aromas of hops, therefore in order to discover the fullness of the unpasteurised taste, one must visit Tankovna where it is served by specially trained Tapsters according to the highest standards.
The visitors will also be able to get familiar with the three classic Czech ways of pouring Pilsner - Hladinka, Šnyt and Milko. Hladinka is the most standard Pilsner pour – in one go with three fingers of foam, while Šnyt, with additional amount of foam, is a refreshing proposal for those who want a small beer in a big mug. Milko, on the other hand, constitutes a surprisingly sweet glass of thick, pure beer foam.
The celebrations at the new Tankovna will feature beer expert Maciej Chołdrych (piwoznawcy.pl) talking about the sensory qualities of beer and running a unique workshop combined with Pilsner tasting. Jacek Maliszewski, Pilsner Urquell Tapster, will reveal to the guest how to perfectly serve the original pilsner, and the beer enthusiasts can count on interesting contests with brand gadgets.
The Czech Republic is the cradle of beer. The list of the most famous brewing locations includes Prague, Ceske Budejovice and, above all, popular Pilsen, where a true brewing revolution took place. In 1842, the first original pilsner was brewed in this city, giving life to the Pilsner Urquell brand, which till this day is considered a Czech beer icon.
What makes the above-mentioned Tankovnas stand out against other venues? Besides the city of Pilsen, they are the only places serving unpasteurised Pilsner Urquell. The fresh lager is delivered to the bars straight from the Czech brewery, which has only 48 hours to transport it with the use of mobile tanks to Tankovnas located in different European countries, including Poland. Thanks to the fact that during transportation the beer is constantly cooled and kept in airtight containers, Pilsner Urquell tastes exactly the same as in the Czech brewery right after it has been brewed.
