The Żubr Fund is the official sponsor of the „Simona Kossak” film
The Żubr Fund provided financial support for the film about Simona Kossak, known for her efforts to preserve wildlife in the Białowieża Forest. The premiere of the motion picture based on the life and work of the famous biologist took place on November 22 at the Helios cinema in Warsaw. The film is now screening in cinemas across Poland.
"Simona Kossak" depicts both private and professional life of one of Poland's most important female scientists. It showcases her relentless battle against deforestation and efforts to protect endangered species. Simona Kossak's goal was to safeguard the most precious elements of the Białowieża Forest for future generations.
"Simona Kossak is a heroine whose determination and dedication to protecting the Białowieża Forest and its wildlife serve as an example for many researchers and ecologists. What is also worth looking into are her extensive educational activities, radio programs and books. We hope that through our sponsorship of the film we help make sure that Simona's values and remarkable story will resonate with a broad audience and raise awareness about the fate of endangered species" - says Michał Szczerba, representative of the Żubr Fund.
As the film's sponsor, the Żubr Fund carries on Simona Kossak's legacy by supporting efforts to protect endangered species. The Fund executes initiatives aimed at purchasing ecologically valuable lands that provide natural habitats for wildlife.
The film was written and directed by Adrian Panek. Besides Sandra Drzymalska, who portrays Simona Kossak, the cast includes Jakub Gierszał, Agata Kulesza, Borys Szyc, Olga Bołądź and Robert Gonera.
