It’s time for the fourth edition of the Check Your BAL programme

16.05.2018

Kompania Piwowarska’s Check Your BAL mobile zone kicks off its fourth tour across Poland. Over the next five months, it will visit 13 major outdoor events with the purpose of educating tens of thousands of fun loving people on responsible alcohol consumption.

It’s the fourth edition of the Check Your BAL mobile zone programme which has visited 29 mass events so far. Over the last three years, it has allowed over 150,000 people to take a professional breathalyser test to determine whether they could drive a car or not. Additionally, more than 30,000 alco-goggles animations were carried out to show how alcohol distorts our perception.

– Our mobile zone attracts more and more participants every year, and because of that our message about responsible alcohol consumption reaches a much wider audience – says Małgorzata Walędzińska-Półtorak, Sustainable Development Project Manager at Kompania Piwowarska. – What’s important is the fact that we’re trying to actively educate people in an interesting way with the use of unusual games and challenges. The knowledge gained that way is assimilated faster and retained longer.

People visiting our Check Your BAL zone will be able to test their sobriety with the use of a professional breathalyser as well as to put their bodies and minds to a test while wearing our alco-goggles. Equipped with these unusual glasses, they have to play with blocks or complete a unique labyrinth, among other challenges. The bravest individuals can also face a reflex simulator (Pol’and’Rock and Beerfest).

Just as last year, Check Your BAL will kick off the 2018 season at the Kortowiada (17-20.05), which is a great student event taking place in Olsztyn. From there it will travel to the Małopolska region (Life Festival in Oświęcim) and Silesia (Tyskie Days in Tychy). In July and August it will visit numerous music festivals across the country (Suwałki Blues Festiwal, 90’ Festival Katowice, Audioriver, Pol’and’Rock Festival, Czad Festiwal Straszęcin, Beerfest) and the AirShow in Radom. The fourth edition of the programme will come to an end in Warsaw at the National Stadium.

Kompania Piwowarska initiated its Check Your BAL mobile zone in 2015. The goal of the programme is to promote responsible consumption of alcohol, which constitutes one of the priorities of the company’s sustainable development strategy “Bet on Beer”.
