The Golden, Silver, White or Green Leaves are awarded to companies for whom environmental protection, supporting local communities, ethical conduct, caring for the wellbeing of employees, maintaining good relationships with contractors, and listening to customer expectations are important elements of their business strategies.
Kompania Piwowarska has been among the awarded enterprises since the very beginning of the POLITYKA ranking. Thus far, the company has earned six silver, five golden and one super golden CSR Leaf. This year marks the first time Kompania Piwowarska has received the Green Leaf.
– We are incredibly honoured to have been among the leaders of sustainable development in Poland for over 13 years, since the very beginning of this ranking. This area constitutes a crucial element of our strategy. We have clearly defined goals regarding sustainable development, which we consistently pursue. Our overarching purpose is to create meaningful connections, which means that together with selected partners, we strive to have a positive impact on our surroundings, both environmentally and socially – commented Kinga Kostrzyńska, Sutainable Development Manager at Kompania Piwowarska.
At the beginning of 2022, Kompania Piwowarska defined its overarching purpose of ‘Creating Meaningful Connections’. Pursuing this ambition involves being a force for planet positivity and serving up a positive and inclusive experience for people and society. Green investments aimed at reducing the carbon footprint, minimizing water consumption and reducing waste are tangible expressions of these efforts. The company also executes a variety of social activities, including awareness campaigns, support for educational and developmental initiatives, and partnerships with non-governmental organizations and associations.
It is worth emphasizing that Green Leaves are awarded exclusively to companies that make strategic decisions, set specific and measurable goals based on analyses, facts and figures, and refer to available scientific, economic and technological knowledge. Moreover, they credibly measure their carbon footprint using the recognized GHG Protocol methodology and subject it to external verification, as well as base their activities on the best local and global practices and international standards, including the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) certification and external verification. Furthermore, a significant aspect of their ESG management is a comprehensive climate-related issue management system with transparent involvement of board members and the supervisory board.
