Noble Box 2018 at KP: Kompania of Volunteers for elderly and lonely people

The latest edition of the Noble Box (Szlachetna Paczka) with the participation of Kompania Piwowarska has shown that the company still has a lot of strength and motivation to help those in need. Kompania of Volunteers’ engagement in 2018 resulted in over 1,000 packages with a total value of almost PLN250,000. Over the last three years, KP’s employees and people invited by them to support the project have helped 174 families and lonely people, preparing over 3,000 packages the value of which amounted to nearly PLN700,000.

Kompania Piwowarska first joined the Noble Box in 2016, and since then the enthusiasm of the volunteers has only been increasing. Every year, at the end of November / beginning of December, despite Christmas preparations and busy schedules, they find the time and energy to support the needy. Last year, this great, nation-wide charity campaign was joined by 1,656 employees of KP, which constitutes 60% of the staff, and 188 people from outside of the company. It translated into over 1,000 packages – encompassing equipment, furniture, clothing, medication, food, detergents as well as Christmas presents – with a total value of PLN247,827.33.

– Reaching that amount was possible thanks to significant financial support from the company. At the same time, what’s worth mentioning is the fact that 1/3 of this sum comes from the resources of our volunteers. Not only did they invest their own money, but also something we cannot put a price on – the time devoted to shopping, packing and transporting the presents. It is a huge and priceless gift – reminds Małgorzata Walędzińska-Półtorak, Sustainable Development Programme Manager at Kompania Piwowarska.

In 2018, Kompania Piwowarska dedicated 2,763 hours to the Noble Box, which adds up to over 345 working days, and thus successfully improved its last year’s result. The company also broke its record in terms of the collected amount. In total, over three editions, the volunteers representing KP have prepared over 3,000 packages amounting to approx. PLN700,000 and helped 174 families and lonely people.

– We are very happy with the scale of the engagement of our employees. We can always count on our Kompania of Volunteers! – says Małgorzata Walędzińska-Półtorak. – However, it is not about the statistics. Above all, let’s not forget that every volunteer, every dedicated hour of work and every penny translate into actual help for a person in need. Within the latest edition of the Noble Box, we have mostly supported the elderly and lonely people, whose circumstances can be especially hard. We believe that that our packages brought them hope and a chance for a better tomorrow. That makes us extremely happy and proud – she sums up.
