In the hometown of Kozel, everything was divided. On one side were the lovers of light beer. On the other, those who reached exclusively for dark brews. Two worlds, two choices, one divide… that seemed impossible to overcome.
This story marks the beginning of the new Kozel campaign, “Czesi nas dobry MIX”, launching on April 6. It draws inspiration from both the legend of Kozel’s town and Czech beer culture – built around openness, gatherings and shared experiences.
Two worlds, one choice
The central theme of the campaign is a turning point – the moment the divided town begins to unite. We see two separate worlds, until Kozel appears, initiating change and a symbolic connection. The result is KOZEL MIX – a unique way of serving beer and a metaphor for bringing opposites together.
Kozel rolls out refreshed communication with the aim of clearly emphasizing the premium character of the brand. At the heart of the campaign are Kozel’s two flagship variants: the light Kozel Ležák and the dark Kozel Černý. Previously consumed separately, in this new communication, they form a perfect duo: KOZEL MIX. It is the brand’s signature serving method, which involves combining both variants in a single mug. KOZEL MIX offers the perfect balance of taste – a harmonious blend of delicate bitterness and subtle sweetness. It is more than just a flavour proposition. Above all, it is a new ritual that sets the brand apart and fits perfectly into Czech beer culture. It symbolically unites two worlds, showing that picking a side is not necessary.
Scope of activities
The project combines extensive ATL and BTL activities, including TV and digital campaigns, social media engagement, PR initiatives, and OOH presence featuring a custom mural. The communication will also be visible at points of sale, utilizing the distinctive “two worlds” motif and the MIX concept across POS materials.
A key element of the campaign is the use of Kozel’s iconic mugs, which serve as one of the brand’s signature tools in building Czech beer culture and enhancing the KOZEL MIX experience. The on-trade channel also plays a crucial role – thanks to the serving rituals and tasting boards, consumers can fully experience the concept of two separate worlds coming together.
Because choosing is not always necessary
The brand’s new campaign is a story of two worlds that Kozel dared to unite – proving that there is no need to choose when you can have the best of both.
