The list of practices distinguished in the 17th Responsible Business Forum Report included the following initiatives implemented by Kompania Piwowarska: the “Bet on Exercise” programme promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyle and supporting social organizations, the “Check Your BAL” programme promoting responsible consumption of alcohol, The Noble Box (Szlachetna Paczka) campaign that has been gathering a record-breaking number of KP volunteers for years. The other three spots were taken by pro-environmental programmes: EKO Zone at the Pol’and’Rock festival, the “Be More Observant” programme aimed at building safety culture among employees, and the “Aware KP Driver” programme dedicated to increasing the safety od company car users.
This year’s edition of the report also mentions that last year Kompania Piwowarska expanded the list of indicators monitoring implementation of its sustainable development strategy with an indicator verifying remunerations depending on gender – to ensure equal pay for men and women. Such analyses had already been conducted by the company based on its own resources, however starting from 2018 KP has been using an external IT tool prepared by the Institute of Structural Research. The remaining three new practices include the Lech Starter grant programme supporting local initiatives and two corporate volunteering campaigns – “KP Employees for Homeless Animals” and “KP for the Women’s Rights Centre in Gdańsk”.
– KP’s good practices have once again been appreciated by the RBF, which proves that we are very serious about our commitment to run a responsible business. Our efforts always revolve around a real person – an employee, a consumer, a client or finally a whole local community. We educate, support and, above all, provide our stakeholders with tools allowing them to take care of health, safety and wellbeing – sums up Grzegorz Adamski, Public Affairs and Sustainable Development Manager at Kompania Piwowarska.
It is yet another edition of the report based on seven corporate social responsibility areas compliant with the ISO 26000 standard. The summary allows readers to notice trends and changes that have been implemented in terms of CRS over the years.
Just as in previous editions, the most popular areas were social engagement and development of local communities, and labour practices. What is worth mentioning is the fact that for the first time in the history of the report the area with the least number of submissions was not human rights but fair operational practices.
The Responsible Business Forum is the longest operating – over 18 years – and the biggest non-governmental organization in Poland, applying a comprehensive approach to the concept of corporate social responsibility. The Forum is an expert organization that serves as the initiator and the partner of key projects executed in the field of Polish CSR.
