The fifth edition of the Ethical Company competition awarded 23 firms out of 349 submissions, while three of them received the Super Ethical Company title. Once again the group of winners was dominated by the finance and insurance industry, however the ranking also included some pharmaceutical companies and those operating on the construction market. Kompania Piwowarska, just as last year, was the only representative of the food and beverage sector to receive this prestigious title in the category for large corporations, which makes it a strong candidate for the Super Ethical Title, reserved for companies that have been called the Ethical Company three years in a row.
– Ethical approach to business operations pays off. Companies applying ethical standards are performing better on the demanding job market, where attracting and keeping employees becomes more and more challenging. Form the point of view of employees, ethical activities constitute one of the most important factors influencing their commitment. It is clearly visible at Kompania Piwowarska – the voluntary resignation rate in our company is two times lower than the market average. We have no doubts that it is mostly the result of the rules we follow as an employer, supplier or customer – said Iwona Jacaszek-Pruś, Corporate Affairs manager at Kompania Piwowarska, while receiving a diploma ta the gala.
The goal of the Ethical Company competition is to select and award entities undertaking the most comprehensive and systemic activities aimed at building and strengthening their organizational structure based on ethics. It is organized by the “Puls Biznesu” daily in cooperation with Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and PKN Orlen, and supported by its content partner PwC – PwC Advisory. It is open to all Polish companies which maintain high ethical standards across their value chain: they always obey the law and ethical norms, respect their business partners, apply the rules of fair competition, build internal trust and good employee relationships, fight against fraud and pathologies, and get involved in operations for different stakeholder groups.
