Go on a first name basis with a four-century-long brewing tradition during the Open Day at Tyskie Browary Książęce

25.06.2019

On July 6, Tyskie Browary Książęce will open its doors to visitors so they can go on a first name basis with the history of four centuries of uninterrupted brewing at the brewery in Tychy. The number of places for the free brewery tours is limited.

The tour participants can expect an exciting visit at the Museum of Tyskie Browary Książęce accompanied by numerous beer stories as well as a visit at the brewery, where they will follow the whole brewing process – from the brewhouse to the bottling line. The day will end at the historic pub, where the guest will get a chance to taste Tyskie straight from the brewery and take part in a workshop led by a beer expert – Cervesario.

– Tyskie Browary Książęce is a jewel of Silesian architecture and one of the most technologically advanced breweries in Europe. Our brewery represents many generations of those who have built and modernized it as well as worked and lived here. Thanks to our Open Day, everyone can symbolically become a part of its history, that began 390 years ago within the land of Pless, just by taking part in our unique, jubilee tour without the need to buy tickets – encourages Dariusz Garnowski, Tyskie Browary Książęce Director.

The schedule for July 6 will include ten tours with 20 participants each, and the first one will begin at 10:30 am. Everyone can sign up for a tour via the form available at https://tyskiebrowaryksiazece.kp.pl. The tours are intended for adults and people over 16 years of age (under adult supervision). The visitors can use a free parking lot by the brewery.

Tyskie Browary Książęce is an important element of not only the art of brewing but also the city of Tychy and the whole region, especially many generations of local residents, their families and loved ones. Not to mention that it is the cradle of Tyskie, one of Poles’ favourite beers, and the Książęce speciality collection.

The Museum of Tyskie Browary Książęce, operating by the brewery for 15 years without a break, is located in the evangelical chapel built for the employees of the brewery by John Henry XI, Prince of Pless. The Museum is a true entertainment and education centre offering daily brewery tours. It was the first touristic venue to introduce tours conducted in the Silesian dialect by guides dressed in regional outfits. These Silesian tours are intended for both the residents of the region and everyone else who would like to get familiar with the authentic, local colour and spend their free time in an unusual way. The Museum organizes cyclical events, such as tasting workshops, Museum Nights or Industriada. Up-to-date information available at www.browarytyskie.pl.
