This summer, the Pilsner Urquell brand invited its fans to create photo stories reflecting the unique character of the Czech Republic. The participants’ job was to prepare possibly the best photo answer to one of three themes referring to the successive stages of the competition: Czech formula for a meeting, Czech formula for quality and Czech formula for culture. The themes were not coincidental, as passion for friendly gatherings, perfection in brewing unique beer and inimitable culture are the characteristics that make us love the country the most!
The jury awarded the main prize amounting to PLN3,000 to Anna Stępień-Zaborek, while two distinctions worth PLN1,000 each went to Biserka Cejovic and Piotr Wojtaszek. All finalists along with their closest companions went to Prague and Pilsen in the Czech Republic. The trip to the Pilsner’s country of origin was intentionally scheduled for the 6th of October as it was the date of the beer’s anniversary, which was riotously celebrated by the whole city within the frame of the Pilsner Fest festival! Joined by Mariusz Szczygieł acting as a jury representative, the laureates went on a tour around the Pilsen-based brewery, which has been operating since 1842, and took part in the final competition gala. The list of provided attractions also included sightseeing and discovering Czech delicacies in Prague.
