It’s worth going through this with Lech, it’s worth partying responsibly! KP promotes responsible alcohol consumption at the Woodstock Festival Poland

All materials are intended for adults over the age of 18 only and should not be passed on or made available to persons under the age of 18.

While the most devoted fans of the Woodstock Festival are heading towards the town of Kostrzyn nad Odrą or setting up their tents, Kompania Piwowarska is already waiting for them on the spot with Lech’s Village, encompassing a special Check Your BAL zone, where everyone can take a breathalyser test and learn how alcohol influences our bodies. Our efforts to promote responsible alcohol consumption are supported by trained sales people.
Warm hearts and cool heads – that should be the motto for the participants of the 23rd Woodstock Festival Poland. Even though beer has always been an inseparable part of the event, everyone should know when enough is enough. Mr Leszek Chmielewski strongly believes that beer should always be consumed responsibly and in moderation, only by adults.
– We want our beer to play the role of a companion for all adults enjoying nice moments and to be associated only with pleasant events. To make it possible, we need to focus on getting back home from concerts safely and chose the right moment to start replacing beer with water or Lech Free – explains Małgorzata Walędzińska-Półtorak, responsible consumption specialist at Kompania Piwowarska. – In order to help festival-goers reach that goal, we’ve organized four points within the festival area where everyone can take a professional breathalyser test.
In a way, Woodstock fans did their part to deserve the devices – before the festival, Leszek Chmielewski donated eight cutting-edge breathalysers to WOŚP (The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity), which were purchased thanks to collection of recyclables within the last year’s Eco Zone. One of the above-mentioned sobriety checkpoints is located within the Check Your BAL Zone in Lech’s Village. It also allows the participants to try out alco-goggles to see how alcohol distort our perception. Those who manage to successfully open a door with a key or complete a simulator ride will receive the Woodstock currency – Leszki.
The Check Your BAL Zone usually joins forces with the Eco Zone – and this year isn’t any different. By offering an arcade game that puts human perceptiveness to a test, Leszek encourages festival-goers to notice the potential of used beer cans. The materials collected in the Eco Zone will be segregated and then recycled. Leszek will award those who take good care of our environment with his currency, exchangeable for eco pillows made of advertising banners and other things.
What’s worth mentioning is the fact that this year our beer taps will be handled by 150 salespeople, who – just like in previous years – have been trained in the field of responsible sales. Combining theory with practice, the training taught them how to handle difficult clients and refuse to serve under-aged and drunken participants. Our beer stands were equipped with special signs and the taps with stickers informing that under-aged and drunken clients will not be served. Additionally, young-looking participants will be asked to show an ID.
– We believe that when warned what’s expected of them, festival-goers will gladly cooperate and beer sales will go smoothly and without any mishaps. For many participants, it will be yet another edition of the festival, therefore our rules should not surprise them – says Małgorzata Walędzińska-Półtorak. – All the activities are aimed at providing safety and wellbeing of the participants. We hope that with our contribution the Woodstock Festival Poland will once again go down in history as a happy celebration of music and a responsible and safe event.
