Kompania Piwowarska receives yet another CSR Leaf by the Polityka weekly

23.05.2018

Kompania Piwowarska was awarded POLITYKA’s prestigious CSR Leaf for the seventh time in a row. Out of 115 companies which filled out the survey about corporate social responsibility (CSR) management, only 30 received the two most important distinctions.

From the first edition of Polityka’s competition, Kompania Piwowarska has always been ranked among the laureates. The situation remained unchained in the 7th edition of POLITYKA’s Leafs. The CSR Silver Leaf, second highest distinction awarded by the weekly magazine, confirms that in its day to day activities Kompania Piwowarska implements its CSR strategy in a well-thought-out, systemic and long-term way.

“We are very happy to be once again included in the group of responsible business leaders” – says Iwona Jacaszek-Pruś, Corporate Affairs Manager at Kompania Piwowarska. “Our obligation, that we fulfil on a daily basis, is to reach 16 out of 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. We support the development of our employees and business partners, take good care of people and our environment, promote responsible and moderate consumption of alcohol, and passionately engage in volunteering.”

Organised by the Polityka weekly in cooperation with Deloitte and the Responsible Business Forum, the review enjoys growing popularity – this year, it saw a record-breaking number of 115 submissions from companies representing different sectors, such as the financial, food or energy and heating industry. In total 66 companies were awarded Golden, Silver and White Leaves, but only 30 of them earned the two highest distinctions.

The participants of this year’s edition were evaluated in seven key areas of responsibility: corporate order, human rights, behaviour towards employees, environmental protection, acting in the best interest of clients, business honesty and social engagement. Besides the survey, the participating companies sent their best 2017 projects executed in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which have already brought real business, social or economic changes. The jury received 113 submissions relating mostly to the following three of the 17 Goals: Quality Education, Reduced Inequalities, Sustainable Cities and Communities.
